Rumor 1

If you just came from my Results History section, you would have seen that the Vauxhall Cresta won at Phillip Island in 1960. Back in this era, the cars were production cars that have had blue-printed engines and nothing more, and the winning car was driven around the country for a couple of weeks for all to see. Well, legend has it that the car was totally written off on the way home from the circuit before it had the chance to go on the tour. So Holden, found a Vauxhall Cresta of the same colour and placed all the undamaged components from the original car on this fraud and threw a bit of dirt on it to make it look like it had just been driven 800 km around Phillip Island. However Australia thought it was the original.
